As recently announced in the No.27 National Standard Notice of the People’s Republic of China by the State Administration for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine and the Standardization Administration of China, four national printing standards have been approved to be issued and officially implemented from June 1, 2014. National Standard GB/T30328-2013 “Classification of Post-press Finishing Materials” chaired by Shenzhen Polytechnic, and National Standards GB/T30325-2013 “Requirements on Hardcover Books”, GB/T30326-2013 “Requirements on Paperbound Books” and GB/ T30327-2013 “General Requirements on Postpress Finishing” are the first national printing standards we have chaired and consulted on.
These four national standards were drafted after establishing the drafting team to develop the standard, then discussed by industry experts, modified and submitted for approval, subsequently reviewed by the National Technical Committee on Printing Standardization Administration of China and by the Standardization Administration of China, before finally being approved to be issued. The process took three years in all.
